The filter operates through a 3-stage filtration process:
STAGE 1 – COARSE SPONGE: Filters out large size impurities, such as food residue, fish excrement, and plant leaves. STAGE 2 – CARBONIZED SPONGE: Removes odor, chlorine, and fine particles. STAGE 3 – FINE SPONGE: Polishes the water before it is returned to the tank.
To ensure optimal performance, it is important to maintain the filter properly. If the filter is not aerating, check the following: 1. Make sure to block the side water outlet to enable the aeration function. 2. If the filter is placed too deep, it may not aerate. Simply raise the filter to resolve this issue. 3. The filter sponge may be clogged. Clean it to restore aeration.
During operation, the filter must be fully submerged in the water. When replacing the filter sponges, the order of placement is as follows: 1. Coarse sponge (blue sponge) at the bottom 2. Activated carbon sponge (black sponge) in the middle 3. Fine sponge (yellow sponge) at the top
