This powerful filter contains patented rotating Bio-Wheel technology that provides superior wet/dry biological filtration for the growth of nitrifying bacteria, effectively eliminating toxic ammonia and nitrate quickly. As the Bio-Wheel rotates, it exposes the beneficial bacteria to the air, helping them work harder and faster to keep your aquarium ammonia-free. The Bio-Wheel never clogs and does not need to be replaced.

All Bio-Wheel filters feature noise-reducing, two-piece vented covers and adjustable mid-level intake strainers. They use Marineland Rite-Size Filter Cartridges with Black Diamond Premium Activated Carbon to filter out dirt and debris for maximum water clarity. Stage 1: Mechanical Filtration - The Penguin Rite-Size Filter Cartridge's floss screens out dirt and debris, and a patented ribbed back provides maximum water-to-carbon contact.

Stage 2: Chemical Filtration - Black Diamond Premium Activated carbon works to remove odors, discoloration, and impurities.

Stage 3: Biological Filtration - The patented Bio-Wheel eliminates toxic ammonia and nitrite on contact and is designed to grow the beneficial bacteria needed for biological filtration. The Bio-Wheel now features 50% more surface area.

The Penguin Power Filter requires virtually no setup, making it perfect for any fish lover. Simply follow the manual to connect the parts and hang the filter on the back of your tank, priming it with aquarium water before plugging it in. You can then adjust the water flow using the mid-level strainer.
